Bikes Without Wheels

Objects must walk, walking transport is the future. This collection will consist of walking objects and in specific walking bikes. The art of walking is the red line of the investigation aiming to find inventive linkages and mechanisms to perfectionize the motion of walking. This is of main interest since we could assume that by the evolutional process in the future the human being will adapt to this same way of perfect walking. So this research obtains insight in the future of mankind.

Although the wheel is found very important, it is old and outdated. It is time for something new. Because the early men had a problem to transport objects, since objects are not able to walk themselves, they found out the wheel. “If they won’t walk, we’ll just roll them”, they must have thought. In time this rolling motion has been perfectionized, especially in transportation devices for persons, the bike.

But if an object is able to walk, why do we want to roll it? Rolling motion is unnatural, there is no animal that uses rolling to move itself. So apparently walking must be better, something we could easily agree on for transport in rough terrain. And since we focus so much on rolling, we oblige our self to create roads. Subsequently this has us stand in a line up, waiting till our predecessors have rolled ahead.

In short, walking transport has the future and bikes have to walk.
